Monica joined the USO’s development team as the Director of Philanthropy for the Midwest Region in November 2022. While based in the Chicago area, she travels to North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio on behalf of the USO. Monica has over 25 years of experience in the field, including seventeen years in higher education. In her most recent role as assistant vice president of major gifts and campaigns with Illinois College, she served as a strategic leader helping the college reach and exceed its campaign goal of $50 million.

Monica brings an extensive background in fostering relationships with current and prospective donors and enjoys matching the interests of individuals and family foundations with the USO’s mission.

She grew up in central Illinois and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from Illinois College. Previously, she worked at Elgin Community College Foundation, Naperville Area Humane Society, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Missouri – St. Louis, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and Junior Achievement. Away from her professional endeavors, Monica and her husband enjoy traveling, attending concerts and musicals, spending time with friends and family and reading.
