Lauren joined the USO team as the Grants and Stewardship Manager in February 2023. A former librarian and archivist, Lauren pivoted to working in development several years ago, and has a strong background in research, grant writing, donor relations, and community engagement. This includes prior roles in academia, as well as both the public and the non-profit sectors. She came to the USO after working in development for several years at the University of San Diego, her alma mater.

As an active-duty Navy spouse, Lauren is intimately familiar with the important role the USO plays in supporting our service members and their families. She brings her first-hand experience and dedication to military family advocacy to the Major Gifts and Planned Giving team. A native San Diegan, she spent several years in Illinois before happily returning to the California coast. She currently resides in San Diego, where she is stationed with her husband and two little boys. In her spare time, she enjoys trying her hand at new recipes, tending to her much-neglected garden, and adventures with her family.
