Christine Murphy joined the USO as Director of Philanthropy for the Northeast Region in 2023. Her appreciation for military members, veterans and their families stem from the many family members and close friends who have served or are serving. Her first introduction to the USO was her father’s photos of the USO show with Ann-Margret at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam in 1967. Now immersed in the USO’s programs and services, she sees her role at the USO as a privilege and an honor.

Based in the Boston area, Christine has been in the non-profit sector for over 20 years, where her passion and focus have been building strong relationships to help create deeper connections to the mission and the individuals and families being served. In her previous role at The Salvation Army, her most cherished stories were those from veterans and their families who had been served by the organization in WWII - one of the six entities under the USO umbrella during the war.

Christine attended Eastern Connecticut State University, playing DIII volleyball, and earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Nichols College in Dudley, MA. Her husband is an Iraq veteran, and she and their family enjoy hiking, camping, and spending time with their dogs.
