Bill Roberti is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Public Sector Services in New York. He built and led the expansion of Public Sector Services and served as its CEO for more than a decade, applying specialized turnaround techniques in innovative environments to benefit the public good.

With over 40 years of leadership experience with corporate, government and public sector organizations, Mr. Roberti has held board memberships and Chairman and CEO positions, lending expertise to academia, government, not-for-profit and retail sectors. He was featured in Firing Back—a book on leadership agility during corporate crises; quoted in Reversing the Slide: A Strategic Guide to Turnarounds; featured in The Redesign of Urban School Systems; and appeared in programs including The Jim Lehrer News Hour.

Mr. Roberti served as the interim superintendent of the St. Louis Public School System, where his A&M team and crisis managers applied turnaround, restructuring, and crisis management approaches that led to the revitalization of the city’s educational infrastructure. He also served as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) of the Orleans Parish School Board in New Orleans (before, during and after Hurricane Katrina).

In addition, Mr. Roberti led a European bank assignment in the Detroit bankruptcy and served as Financial Advisor for domestic and international municipalities and governments including The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the State of Louisiana. He is also the Third-Party Fiduciary for the Government of Guam Department of Education. During his tenure at A&M, he served Chairman of the Board of Centerra—a US based security company with contracts and clients globally.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Roberti served as President and CEO of Brooks Brothers. He is a retired Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserve, having served in several senior army staff positions at the Pentagon.

Mr. Roberti earned a bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He serves on the Board of Trustees for Loyola University New Orleans; the USO Southeast Region Board of Directors; the Board of Directors for the Institute for the Study of War in Washington DC; Sacred Heart University as a Trustee Emeritus; and is a Senior Advisor to Reye Partners. He was an Adjunct Professor and Lecturer for various universities including Sacred Heart University, Yale School of Management, Stamford University, University of Guam and Baruch College.
