Milk On Tap

Can you spot a milk mustache in this crowd?

Volunteers pour milk for sailors, date unknown.

The USO loves the volunteerism and piece-of-home feel displayed in this photo. Can you help us determine the location, date or identities of the people at this bar?

Maybe the insignia with the eagle and moon tells you something. How much information can you milk from the details? The background is dark and slightly blurry, but we are glass half full kind of people. Leave a comment below if you can tell us any information about this photo…or if you have any other lactose-oriented jokes.

‘Heave a ho there! Sailor’

While many Americans are taking their vacations to the shore, help us identify the harbor in this photo.

Can you identify the location or date of this photo?

The ship names are barely visible, but can you recognize them? Do the cranes in the background or the mountain in the mist give away the location of this place – Stateside or overseas?

According to our records, the USO logo on the armband of the volunteer pictured here was in use from 1974-1983. Do you notice anything else that indicates a more specific date when this photo was taken?

Leave a comment below if you can provide any information about the people, place or date this photo was taken.

‘For you sail at break of day, Hey!’

Christmas in June

Here’s one of our favorite photos from the archives:

What can you tell us about this photo?

Unfortunately, we don’t have any record of where or when this was captured. It’s such a beautiful moment, and we would love to have more information about it. Please join the USO in a search for clues that might reveal something about who these men are and what brought them together to decorate an evergreen on this beach.

Photo of the Day: Calling All USO Sleuths!

Thanks to all of you who helped us identify the people and places in our previous photo posts. We have another one for all of you mystery buffs:

What can you tell us about this photo?

The only information we have about this picture is the handwritten “4/70/2” on the back. Is this date accurate? Who is playing on the stage?  Where exactly was this photo taken?

Please leave a comment with any information about the location, performers, crowd, photographer… anything that might give us a clue about this rockin’ concert.
