The south east convenience store chain Kangaroo Express is in the middle of a fantastic “Salute Our Troops” campaign, having already raised $1 million in just a few weeks! The summer-long campaign invites donations at more than 1,600 Kangaroo Express stores or online at KESalute.com, and the funds raised will benefit the USO, Wounded Warrior Project, and state-based military support organizations that benefit troops and their families. You can also post photos or videos on the site praising the military heroes in your lives and communities on the site!

Feeding the frenzy of appreciation is the USO Salute Our Troops Jeep Tour, which deployed on Memorial Day and will complete its mission on Labor Day. A fully-restored 1952 Willys CJ-3 Jeep is touring the Southeast to honor military heroes and families along the route at Kangaroo Express locations and community events. The Salute Our Troops Jeep Tour made its first stops in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida through June. Driven by Tim and Drew, they been collecting video shout-outs to upload and getting people excited!

During their stop in Pensacola, FL, the USO Jeep crew hit up the beach for a Blue Angels show and various Kangaroo Express stores in the area. Hundreds of people, children, veterans, and friends of the military recorded their own shout-outs in just two days! You can track the next leg of the Jeep Tour on Kangaroo Express’ Facebook and Twitter accounts. Next stop Tuscaloosa, AL! - Vyque White, USO [slideshow]
