Memorial Day Ride2Recovery Challenge

Marine Corporal Casey Robertson and his son Ethan created a special bike so he could ride with his dad. His goal was to bike all day... "or at least until lunch!"

On a hot, sunny Memorial Day, more than 300 athletes gathered at Whipple Field in Ft. Myer to bike through scenic Virginia for the next few days. Ride2Recovery hold cycling events all over the nation to benefit Mental and Physical Rehabilitation Programs for our country’s wounded troops. The 4th Annual Memorial Day Challenge kicked off with a performance by the US Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps and some encouraging words from AF Vice Chief Breedlove and Dep. Sec. John Campbell. Next country music star Emily West, who performed a special concert for the participants the night before, performed an emotional rendition of the National Anthem and then they were off! – Vyque White, USO
